RESPERION TECHNOLOGY SHINES AMONGST COMPETITION IN POLISH ROAD AND LAB TESTS

IntegraBase Shows Improved Durability and Extended Longevity in Binder Course Applications Throughout Poland

SAN MATEO, Calif., July 21, 2004 -- Resperion, a leading provider of asphalt paving solutions to governmental agencies and private organizations worldwide, today announced that the General Directorate of National Roads and Highways in Poland has released a report that illustrates the benefits of using Resperion's IntegraBase to modify binder courses.

Based on tests preformed, the report concludes that binder courses modified with IntegraBase show improved technical characteristics in resistance to permanent deformation, while simultaneously improving fatigue durability. The test also showed that compared to the untreated sections, IntegraBase modified binder courses provided an increase in stiffness of over 55% at just 20OC.

The report, titled "Evaluation of the Efficiency of Using Chemcrete USA as an Additive to the Binding Layer of the Surface Construction," contains the results of numerous laboratory tests comparing IntegraBase (formerly known as Chemcrete USA, LLC), SBS Elastomers and different asphalt types. The report also includes test results from 4 of the 15 Polish roads constructed with IntegraBase binder courses between 1999 and 2000.

"We are very pleased with the positive results contained in this report." said Resperion CEO Josh Benveniste. "The report highlights IntegraBase's ability to improve the strength and temperature susceptibility of asphalt binder courses. This information should be useful to agencies looking to build stronger, longer lasting perpetual pavements."

Other highlights from the report include:

-
In both moderate (23OC) and high usage temperatures (40OC, 60OC), IntegraBase exhibited a lower susceptibility to temperatures than SBS Elastomer 50, SBS Elastomer 80, and 35/50 and 50/70 asphalts.
- IntegraBase doubled the fatigue life of the binder course compared to the untreated section at 300µm/m (normal road loading)
- IntegraBase is an ideal modifier when constructing "perpetual pavements" - providing a structure that exhibits increased stability and high durability while extending the longevity of the binder course.

The report can be found online at Resperion's Web site in the Technical Library

About Resperion
Resperion is a leading provider of asphalt paving solutions to governmental agencies and private organizations worldwide. Resperion develops, manufactures and markets various chemical modifiers used to improve specific properties of asphaltic concrete paving mixtures; namely, strength, temperature susceptibility and aggregate adhesion. Resperion manufactures the only modifier which so dramatically increases the structural capacity of asphaltic materials that it is possible to reduce the thickness of the base course and lower initial construction costs. Founded in 1999, Resperion is headquartered in San Mateo, California and has sales offices in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Mexico.
